Hi Peder
As usually a beauty!! I somehow miss some kind oinlay playing in the top, but somethimes less is more...really like the nowadays popular maple walnut combination

Re: Eye Of The Storm
Hi,
funny, there are a lot of details wich correspond exactly to my project : Curly walnut, similar shape of the body, veneer on the headstock, neck thru, Schaller Hannes, undercut stainless steel frets......... So of course, i have to like it very much
Very interesting to see how a professional handles the theme. Seeing how exactly you work in every detail motivates me, to do my work better next time

Re: Eye Of The Storm
Thanks! Remember! this is a family hobby with a CNC....Here's the building process
In May 2013 we got a request for a custom build. The Client had this starting point which gave us a good chance to select the best of things, or make suggestions.
After a good dialog on possibilities, we started out by selecting the specific pieces of wood for the build, also to be used in the coming sketches and renderings.
The headstock design and shape are done by the Client, which master CAD and other visual applications.
This is incorporated into our final CAD file.
Weeks are spent between Client and us, developing the design based on the Cicada...body carving, cut aways, neck width to completely surround the Schaller backplate etc...
These are only a few examples....
The result of the corporation work:)

Re: Eye Of The Storm
Great!
...but one question: How did you insert the fretwire? Hammer or press?

Re: Eye Of The Storm
It was done by hammer, as the fretboard is compound, so that would only leave me with 1st, 12th and 24th for pressing
