I'm planning to do 3 "strat-type" guitars, after a talk, with a Fender/Suhr guitarist. We implement all his wishes into these models. They will all be in different woods, but have the same hardware. That could give us a good clue, what wood do to tone.
The first challenge was to find the GOTOH bridges/hardware he wanted.
Did a lot of Googling, but ended up contacting GOTOH Japan, who directed me to a wholesaler in Japan. 4 weeks, of manufacturing and 2 days in shipping. 6 complete sets of 510TS-SF1/TS, 2 sets of GTC-201/WS09, 6 sets of hight adjustable machines SDS 510 HAP-05M L/VXC and a lot of other pieces:)
Thinking of:
1: Body walnut, Neck walnut Wenge walnut
2: Top part body flamed maple, bottom part Khaya. Neck: Khaya Maple Khaya
3: Body Elm, Neck Maple Walnut Maple
