Titebond in Germany
Liebe Freunds
just stumbled upon the dealer of titebond products in Germany, and found a couple of different products for my building....especially the extended glue for neck-through designs, which has given me problems with normal Titebond's too fast settling!

Re: Titebond in Germany
Danke freunde, es ist ein sehr tolles link, weil ich ins StewMac nur das algemeine Titebond gefunden haben!
....allright....tried my school German language....remember I'm 62.
I just go so happy to be able to get all the products available, and not pay an unreasonable duty on a small bottle of glue from the US! Just wanted to share a good info with you all
Keep building

Re: Titebond in Germany
Yes! realized....and didn't know, that Titebond carries some more versatile glues for our building. I bought mine at StewMac, which do NOT show the other products, that Titebond produces! so I was extremely pleased to find the full range of products that would suit MY puposes.... and maybe yours...IN GERMANY...
Titebond EXTENDED take 15 min more before it sets!
When I glue a neck through, in a body, with Titebond "standard" I got few minutes to position and squeeze out the excess glue, before the neck sets....toooo much risk, and I've been toooo close! remember I've got 3 sides that "catches"...
I bought a bottle of each kind and I'll do a little experimenting...
I've been close to f... up a 3000€ guitar just because of wrong glue...
-be back after experience!

Re: Titebond in Germany
@Peder:
I use epoxy lamination resin when I have to glue several layers of veneer and stripes for a neck-through.
http://shop.r-g.de/en/Epoxy-resins/EP-l ... ner-L.html
Look here: http://www.gitarrebassbau.de/viewtopic. ... all#p28799
This resin allows 40 minutes of processing time. This is enough time to do the job without haste. OK, there is some work with measuring and mixing the two components, but the result is really good. The only disadvantage is, that you can't remove the joint with heat.
Cheers
Matthias

Re: Titebond in Germany
Yep! that's what we do in our "carbon" necks, but other than that, I'll go for the Titebond products (or LMI) because you can wash away the surplus glue with water. That's very nice in a neck-through design like ours. Otherwise you would have to sand all our intricate parts filled with epoxy....especially around the neck....
